SERUCA will be successful only when there is broad based participation in our committees from members that represent the full spectrum of our industry. SERUCA committees will be the most active part of the organization, will be the ones doing most of the work, and will have the greatest impact. In a non-profit organization, committees are where the true work is done. If you want to have an impact, then you can do so by joining a committee that represents your passion. Whether it be in government affairs/advocacy, education, partnerships, membership relations, or finances — there is room for anyone that has an interest in promoting Urgent Care.
Volunteer for a committee by sending a message on the Contact Us page. Committee assignments must be be approved by the Board of Directors.

The Government Affairs committee will be one of most important committees. The committee is tasked with monitoring legislative and regulatory activity in each of our nine member states. We oversee lobbying activities including the planning and execution of “Days on the Hill” so the face of Urgent Care is known to our legislators and state leaders. The committee also interacts with many other professional organizations such as our state medical societies and other professional organizations. Our committee is charged with monitoring each of our states for regulatory and legislative issues that could affect urgent care. The GAC will be proactive in reaching out to legislators to educate them on the practice of urgent care before there is an issue, as well as proposing legislation that is beneficial to urgent care. In addition, we will proactively and responsively facilitate appropriate legislative, regulatory and reimbursement advocacy for urgent care. The goal will be to establish a network of professionals in each state to monitor the activities of and exchange information with those involved in making decisions about public and private funding and regulatory issues for urgent care-related health care at state levels. If you want to. volunteer for a committee, please forward your CV and contact information to [email protected].
The Membership Committee works to ensure that our members benefit from being part of SERUCA and to continue to grow SERUCA to represent all of the members of the Urgent Care community in the Southeast.
The goals of the membership committee are to retain, grow, and nurture membership to ensure that the urgent care industry continues to become a leader in providing convenient, high quality, and cost effective care.
We establish policies, programs, and procedures, and oversee the implementation of member recruitment and retention. In addition, we make recommendations concerning membership dues and serve the association as a sounding board on membership. SERUCA also advises and supports activities related to delivering the member value proposition as driven by the SERUCA mission, vision and values statements and the strategic plan.

The Strategic Partners Committee establishes annual goals for corporate and other membership funding. We work to identify, qualify and develop strategy for and solicitation of exhibitors, advertisers, sponsors, or funders. Our committee coordinates a strategic partner’s council, as well as to identify, coordinate, and collaborate with professional organizations with similar/complementary interests. Our strategic partners are exactly that to the urgent care industry. They provide the products, software and expertise that help us run high quality urgent care centers. While some would refer to them as vendors, we realize and recognize their contribution to the success of urgent care. The strategic partners committee works with our vendor companies and develops relationships that will benefit SERUCA members, as well as creating opportunities for the vendors through our conferences, exhibit opportunities, and marketing opportunities on our website. We will regularly highlight one of our strategic partners in our “Partner Spotlight” for our members to learn more about the services and support each strategic partner can bring to your urgent care center. The strategic partners want to help you be successful running your urgent care centers and we ask you to consider learning more about the strategic partners that support SERUCA members. If you want to. volunteer for a committee, please forward your CV and contact information to [email protected].
Our Education Committee will be charged with putting together educational workshops for providers and staff, securing CME for educational events, and most importantly organizing what should be the premier educational event for urgent care in our region; the annual Southeast Regional Urgent Care Conference. In addition we will initiate, produce, review, oversee, and/or evaluate activities and services that promote education for and development of individuals working in urgent care. Identify and create educational opportunities around issues of clinical and business concern to members. Identify and coordinate development of educational products including webinars and other activities. We search for other educational opportunities for our members. The Financial Committee provides financial analysis, advice and oversight of the organization’s budget. Our main responsibility is to ensure SERUCA is operating with the financial resources it needs to provide programs, conferences, services and it’s continued efforts to the urgent care community. Our committee ensures that all records are maintained accurately and reports are provided during our monthly Board meetings. We use prior year information to set budgets and balances with useful benchmarks If you want to volunteer for a committee, please forward your CV and contact information to [email protected].
Our Payor Relations Committee undertakes the task of representing urgent care at the payer level and providing urgent care centers with the tools and a background to understand and survive in this dynamic market. We proactively and responsively facilitate appropriate private payer advocacy for urgent care. We establish talking points and represent SERUCA in an information exchange with those involved in making decisions about public and private payer activities affecting urgent care related health care at state levels. We seeks to develop a database for our region on payer activities and create a “tool kit” for our members to use when dealing with payers. The lifeblood of our business is dictated by these payers, creating a better understanding of urgent care for them and helping members disseminate that message is key to growing our centers.
